Dr Cath Becker has a Masters of Medicine Degree in Skin Cancer through the University of Queensland, and is an accredited skin cancer doctor. Cath is also a fellow of Royal New Zealand College of General Practitioners and is an experienced GP.

Prior to this Dr Cath trained in General Surgery and Sub Specialities at Wellington and Hutt Hospitals, and has a special interest in Plastics.

Dr Cath has dedicated years to becoming a specialist in Skin Cancer Medicine. She believes the identification and treatment of skin cancer - alongside education on skin cancer prevention - is her true passion and work's purpose.

Dr Lynette Cherry is an experienced General Practitioner currently working in Martinborough. Lynette has a special interest in Skin Cancer Medicine, and has completed many Surgical Training Courses in both New Zealand and Australia.

Lynette is one of our minor surgeons, and performs this work to an incredibly high standard. She is also trained in Dermoscopy, and available for skin checks and consultations. Lynette brings years of experience to our clinic, and her patience and fiercely knowledgeable capabilities make her a real asset.

Lynette works at both our Masterton and Greytown clinic.

Dr Uma has come to us from Masterton Medical, where he shares his time working there as an experienced General Practitioner, and working at our clinic as a minor surgeon and skin cancer doctor.

Uma is an incredibly experienced doctor, having completed his training in Delhi, then moving to Singapore to further his training, before joining the clinic here in 2021. 

Uma has a special interest in skin cancer and surgery, with a passion for providing high standard care, and continuously advancing his knowledge. He is an accredited skin cancer doctor with the Australasia Skin Cancer College. 

Dr Tom is our Registrar working towards skin cancer specialisation. Tom has worked in hospitals specialising in General Medicine around New Zealand for the last six years, and after five months travel across Europe, has returned home to settle into his new role.

Tom also happens to be Dr Cath Becker's son - skin cancer specialisation runs in the family! 

Dr Karl de Silva is also a Registrar working with us every Monday. Karl has six years experience working in obstetrics and gynaecology in Auckland hospitals (including Middlemore) before moving to Masterton to specialise in General Practice at Masterton Medical.

Now in his second year of GP training, Karl is working towards skin cancer surgery as his special interest. ​​

Janet is our dermoscopy nurse with years of experience in skin cancer detection and minor surgery. Janet does full body skin checks, spot checks, cryotherapy treatment, skin tag removal and minor surgery.

Janet is an integral part of the team making sure all our patients have top level care.​
 

Merryn is a highly skilled dermoscopist nurse that has specialised in skin cancer for the past 20 years. With multiple certificates in dermoscopy, Merryn's main work will be in detection and education on skin cancer, with her skills also lending to aid in minor surgery assistance and biopsies. 

After 15 years of commuting to work in Wellington clinics from Greytown, both the clinic and Merryn are thrilled to have her join our Masterton and Greytown clinics.

Mary is our minor surgery and aftercare nurse.  She ensures the smooth running of the surgery clinics and provides top level care to all our patients.

Clinic manager Ange and Receptionist Lana make up the friendly, efficient and professional admin team. We are always happy to help with any enquires you have.

Marilyn keeps our clinic looking immaculate, sterilises all our instruments and keeps the surgeries well stocked with everything we need.
